BackgroundWriting and editing has been Betsy’s professional focus since she co-edited her high school yearbook. Since then, she’s spent her time looking for that next writing or editing project. She has newspaper, marketing/communications and public relations backgrounds, and extensive knowledge of AP, MLA, Chicago and APA styles. Along the way, Betsy has had the good fortune to work with some fantastic nonprofits, so when the opportunity came up found NMS with then partner Lori, and devote lots of time and energy to helping small and medium-sized nonprofits survive and thrive, she was on board. Her favorite thing about working with nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers is that their enthusiasm for their cause is often infectious. In her spare time Betsy enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband Jared and their two children.

Education: Betsy holds an undergraduate English degree from Meredith College and a master’s in English from North Carolina State University. She has taken grant writing coursework at The University of Georgia.

Nonprofit Involvement: Betsy has volunteered as a tutor and mentor for middle and high school students through several nonprofits, and has served on the board of directors for the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra and the Meredith College Alumni Association.
